Uhr die Möglichkeit, sich die aktuelle Ausstel-
lung 'Der Mensch als Kosmograph-kartogra-
phische Werke aus dem Umfeld des Nikolaus
von Kues und aus der Cusanus-Bibliothek' im
St. Nikolaus-Hospital, Cusanusstr. 2, in Bern-
kastel-Kues anzuschauen.
Ausgestellt sind ferner einige astronomische
Gerate und Instrumente aus dem 15. Jahr-
hundert, die von Nikolaus von Kues verwendet
wurden. Hierzu zahlt auch ein 'Astrolabium'
('Sternengreifer'), das der Kardinal 1444 in
Nürnberg erwarb und mit dessen Hilfe sich die
Position der Sterne, aber auch die Uhrzeit und
die Himmelsrichtungen bestimmen lassen.

Nationaal Militair Museum
Op de nieuwe website www.nmm.nl van het
dito Nationaal Militair Museum in Soest kan
goed en met resultaten in de objectencollectie
worden gezocht, ook met termen als landmeter,
theodoliet en zelfs sextant (hoewel het Marine
museum niet naar Soest ging). Van Wild is zo
aan te treffen: 'Groengelakt metalen statief
(Zwitserland, ca. 1950-1960) t.b.v. twee Neder
landse theodolieten, in groene kist'. Ouder is
een 'attila van zwart laken (GT) t.b.v. majoor
Topografische Dienst KNIL (ca. 1900) met één
zilveren ster plus geborduurde theodoliet'.
Zelfs de maker is bekend: Auguste Savelkoul.
Er is er ook nog zo'n 'huzarenbuis' die de Fa.
C. van Hal en Zoon in 1935 maakte. Jeroen
Mohrmann schreef in DHC 2008-4 over de
TDNI en plaatste daarbij al een kant van een
uniformkraag met een theodoliet, wel drie
sterren en zonder de term attila! Van de Topo
grafische Dienst zijn er niet alleen kaarten en
andere gravures, maar ook een financieel jaar
verslag en een foto 'Den Haag gebombardeerd
op 3 maart 1945, voltreffer op het gebouw van
de Topografische Dienst aan het Malieveld'.
