Summary
Pragmatic Geo-Information Supply, a Geodetic Search for
Synthesis
In the geodetic professional field there are discussions about the
coherence of its various activities and about the relationships
with the disciplines which use and produce geographical in
formation. In two articles these subjects are analysed. The first
article comprises a theoretical framework, consisting of three
interrelated processes: the ever-changing world, the human
problem-solving process, and the process of information supply.
For the management of the latter two processes, recursive
structures, such as meta-processes and meta-information, are
needed. In the second article the theoretical framework is
applied in an analysis of two complicated problem-solving
processes: the building process and the land reallocation process.
At the end some recommendations for geodetic education and
research are given.
