Het normalisatieproces geschiedt op basis van consensus.
De invloed hierop is het grootst bij actieve deelname.
De gebruikte concepten en gedachten worden in een
vroegtijdig stadium gebruikt om de randvoorwaarden te
bepalen voor het Nederlandse standaardisatiewerk. Daar
naast zal toetsing en afstemming van reeds ontwikkelde
Europese normen met de Nederlandse normen naar ver
wachting veel sneller verlopen vanwege de opgebouwde
achtergrondkennis.
Gezien het belang van Nederlandse harmonisatie als
mede de overlap in een aantal normen die ook in Neder
land zouden worden ontwikkeld, is het van belang dat de
Ravi blijft participeren in de CEN/TC 287.

information) is working in close co
operation with European institutions
CEN) on the development of standards
with respect to geo-information. Further
developments in the area of standardi
zation and normalization are described.
It is shown that there is a great need
for geo-standards and that it is also
important to tune and communicate
international activities on a national
level.
