has only minor distortions and is suffi
cient for most users in the field ofgeo-in-
formation. The GPS-community on the
other hand wanted a truly 3D-reference
frame of the highest quality. The propo
sed solution is welcomed by the users and
administrators of geo-information be
cause it leaves the existing high quality)
databases unchanged, whereas the GPS-
community can achieve maximum ac
curacy by linking up with ETRS89.
