OpenGIS Technical Committee mee
ting
This article gives an impression of
the Technical Committee meeting in
Munich held from June 5th till June
9th. OpenGIS stimulates the growth of
the GIS-market by realising the inter
operability betiveen geographical infor
mation systems (GIS) and databases.
The Technical Committee meetings are
held every two months to support OGC
developments. The Technical Commit
tee meeting in Munich yielded among
other things abstract specifications for
Local Based and Mobile Services, fur
ther developments of the implementa
tion specifications for defining Features,
a recommendation paper for the Geo
graphical Markup Language (GML),
implementation specifications for web
map servers, and an evaluation of the
GIPSLE project.
