Voor ieder adres in Nederland kunnen de locaties van de
360° panoramafoto's getoond worden (de witte stippen
op de kaart) en worden automatisch de dichtstbijzijnde pa
noramafoto's geopend waarbij de kijkrichting op de kaart
wordt getoond.
CycloMedia verzorgt het grootschalig en systematisch in
beeld brengen van de omgeving op basis van 360° panora
mafoto's, ook wel cyclorama's genoemd. CycloMedia ont
wikkelt zelf haar unieke opname- en verwerkingstechnie
ken en brengt daarmee grote gebieden vanaf de openbare
weg fotografisch in beeld, waarna de opname wordt opge
nomen in een (online) database. Om dit mogelijk te maken
rijden tientallen auto's zeven dagen per week door heel Ne
derland. Binnen de bebouwde kom wordt er om de 10 meter
een opname gemaakt, buiten de bebouwde kom gemiddeld
om de 40 meter. Cyclorama's geven een bijzonder nauw
keurig en realistisch beeld van de omgeving en hebben een
hoge resolutie. Van elke opname worden de exacte locatie,
oriëntatie en het tijdstip van opname geregistreerd. Is een
nauwkeurigheid op centimeterniveau nodig, dan wordt
een fotogrammetrische triangulatie van de cyclorama's uit
gevoerd. Daarmee wordt het mogelijk om met cyclorama's
3D te meten met een precisie van enkele centimeters. Deze
fotogrammetrische techniek is zeer geschikt gebleken voor
het controleren van grootschalige kaarten: niet alleen van
wege de hoge meetprecisie, maar ook omdat met het beeld
materiaal de volledigheid van de kaart goed beoordeeld kan
worden.

the map) and automatically the nearest panoramic images
are opened and their orientations are shown on the map.
CycloMedia manages the large-scale and systematic visuali
zation of our environment based on, so-called cycloramas.
CycloMedia develops her unique image recording- and pro
cessing technology in-house for the photographic recording
of large areas from the public road. In urban areas the Cyclo
Media cars take panoramic images every 10 meters, in rural
areas every 40 meters. The recordings are stored in an (onli
ne) database that allows access over the internet for a wide
variety of applications. Cycloramas give an extraordinary
precision and visual awareness of the environment with
their high resolution. Of each recording the exact location,
orientation and time of the recording are registered. When
a precision at centimetre level is needed, a photogramme-
tric triangulation of the cycloramas is performed. With this
technique it is possible to measure 3D coordinates with a
precision of a few centimetres. This photogrammetric tech
nique has proven to be very useful for the quality control of
large-scale maps: not only as a result of the high measure
ment precision, but also because the imagery facilitates the
verification of the completeness of the map.
