De risicokaart is een communicatie-instrument. Ge
dertien soorten rampen weergegeven.
The risk map is a tool for communication. Municipalities
use the map to inform their inhabitants about the risks
in their environment. The map contains various risks, such
as the incidents with inflammable, explosive and toxic mat
ter, large fires or public disturbance. The map shows 13 ty
pes of risks. The government decides which risks to include
and which ones to leave out. Furthermore, governmental
bodies use the map for policy making, for example when
planning new residential areas or business parks and indu
strial estates. The risk map is created by the government.
Municipalities, provinces and the national government add
data about risks in the national database. The provinces
obtain the data from this national database, that they add
to their provincial databases. The current risk information
can be accessed online through an interactive mapping ap
plication.
