Op anwb.nl staan twee veelbezochte lcartografische toe
passingen: de routeplanner en verkeersinformatie.
Per maand gaat het om meer dan tien miljoen pageviews.
De routeplanner is uniek omdat de databases van Falk en
Navteq zijn gekoppeld, met als doel de meest gedetailleerde
basiskaart te bieden voor de veelal Nederlandse gebruikers.
Zo is het mogelijk dat binnen Nederland op huisnummer
gerouteerd kan worden. Bovendien is het uiterlijk van de
kartografie sterk gelijkend op de papieren ANWB-wegen-
kaarten, terwijl de kaartjes nog steeds goed leesbaar zijn
gebleven.
Was tot op heden uitsluitend actuele informatie op de ver-
lceersinformatiesite zichtbaar, inmiddels biedt de website
steeds meer voorspellende gegevens zoals weerverwachting,
buienradar en informatie over het toe- of afnemen van de
filelengte. Ook kunnen wegwerkzaamheden, webcams, flit
sers en tankstations worden aangeklikt.

views per month. The route planner is an interesting ap
plication as it combines the data sets from Falk and Navteq.
This results in a detailed base map, primarily for a Dutch
audience. Visitors obtain directions to their door step, as
they can supply address information down to the house
number. Furthermore, the cartographic visualization mat
ches the paper maps published by the Dutch Automobile
Association, without compromising legibility on screen.
Until recently, the traffic information application only sho
wed the current traffic situation, but now also provides pre
dictive input such as the weather forecast, the rain radar
and information about increase or decrease of the length
of traffic jams. Visitors can also obtain information about
road works, safety cams and petrol stations.
