Op dit moment is er in Nederland een ont
wikkeling gaande waarbij sommige over
heidsinstanties hun geodatasets vrij of laag
drempelig beschikbaar stellen. Een paar
zwaluwen maken echter nog geen zomer.
In dit artikel wordt daarom stilgestaan bij
de aard van de huidige belemmeringen en
de consequenties ervan. Voorts wordt een
poging gedaan oplossingsrichtingen te for
muleren.
Currently, some Dutch government orga
nizations are releasing their geographic
data sets for a small charge or even for free.
These small steps however do not yet herald
a general trend. This article discusses the
current impediments and its consequences.
Furthermore, it aims to formulate a stra
tegy to solve these issues.

En ce moment on constate au Pays-Bas une
évolution oü les instances publiques mettent
leurs données géographiques a disposition
soit gratuitement soit a un prix trés has.
Une hirondelle ne fait pas le printemps.
Pour cette raison le présent article étudie
les limitations actuelles et les consequences
qu'elles génèrent. On essaie de formuler
quelques indications de solutions.
