opzet van GIN. De historisch-kartografen
toegegeven, een eigenzinnig volkje, zijn er een
voorbeeld van. In 2019 halen ze het tweejaar
lijkse ICHC-congres naar Amsterdam (14-19 juli).
Deze International Conference on the History
of Cartography brengt in zijn kielzog nog een
aantal andere historisch-kartografische evene
menten met zich mee, en een viertal historisch-
kartografische exposities. Reden genoeg, lijkt
me, om de banden met deze Geo-adepten
weer wat meer aan te halen.
Maar de hoofdreden voor deze felicitatie is dat
we er nog zijn, dat er een duidelijke vereniging
is die zich voor dit brede vakgebied inzet en er
waar nodig voor werft en de belangen ervan
verdedigt. Daarmee wil ik onszelf graag geluk
wensen en GIN toewensen dat de bereidheid
daaraan mee te werken blijft toenemen.
