Het Hydrografisch Bureau van de Marine der V.S. is bezig een gereviseerde wereldkaart,
zieh uitstrekkende van 70° Z.Br. tot 84° N.Br., in 12 bladen te maken, terwijl 2 bladen van de
poolstreken alsnog zullen volgen. Deze kaart moet in 1961 verschijnen. De bladen zijn in Mercator-
projectie op de schaal 1 12 233 000 aan de equator. Zij geven de zeeroutes met afstanden in zee-
mijlen tussen de voornaamste havens. In januari 1961 werd reeds een dergelijke kaart in 1 blad
op de schaal 1 39 000 000 uitgegeven.
