De geomorfologische detailkaartering Staat ook in de Verenigde Staten in het middelpunt van de
belangstelling. R. A. G. Savigear heeft een methode ontwikkeld voor kaartering op schaal 1 7 000
tot 1:10 000, welke theoretisch goed gefundeerd schijnt (Volume 55, nr. 3, 1965, p. 514-538).
