Drs.
Summary

The Use ofRemotely Sensed Data in Monitoring Applications
Keywords: remote sensing; image processing; research
The increasing role ofearth Observation satellites as a source for
cartographic products is evident. As a consequence ofthe perio-
dicity of the acquisition technique, the topical value of the
resulting remote sensing data is high, while an advantageous
spectral and spatial resolution contributes to the distinction of
single elements. In this article, remote sensing data are conside-
redfrom the point of view ofmonitoring applications in which
temporal changes in land cover are detected and identified. In
order to depict this dynamic 'change information' static appro-
aches are still dominant, as is illustrated by the use of graphic
variables. However, the introduction of dynamic variables as a
means to depict changes over time would
be more straightforward. The computer-
technological prior conditions seem to be
known but the required theoretical basis
deserves further attention.

tribution d'elements individuels. L'article
est consacre aux applications de monito
ring des donnees de teledetection, notam-
ment en ce qui concerne les changements
survenus dans l'utilisation du sol.
Toutefois, ces 'informations de change-
menf dynamiques sont souvent repre-
sentees par une approche statique,
savoir l'utilisation des variables graphi-
ques. II serait evidemment preferable
d'uti-liser des variables dynamiques pour
repremuter Revolution dans le temps.
L'ordi-nateur assure les conditions de
depart technique pour une teile appro
che, cependant les bases theoretiques en
seraient encore approfondir.
