The author has been one of the editors of
Cartography fKartograficj, the precursor
of the current Journal (TCartografisch
Tijdschrift,). More than 25 years ago, he
recruited Ferjan Ormeling as editor. This
was a fortunate choice, given the fact that
Ormeling fulfilled the task tili recently.
The author reviews the developments of
the journals in the past 25 years, and
focusses on the substantial contributions
made by Ormeling.
