It has been suggested that some decisions might be taken by the
GIS as well, but this provoked the reaction that such Systems
will be untransparent and too restrictive. A GIS equipped with
tools for decision support or evaluation of decision effects
sounds much more attractive. Such a tool should be easy to
handle and be able to communicate visually, as an invitation
to be used. This article is a concise review ofthe PhD-research
which was completed by the author in 1996. The theory of
fuzzy sets is introduced as a tool to derive uncertainty Informa
tion in Classification Operations, which can be visualized in va-
rious ways.

Lors de l'analyse des donnees spatiales Ton rencontre des erreurs

des recherches effectuees par l'auteur en 1996 en vue d'obten-
tion du titre de PhD. La theorie meme de 'fuzzy sets' a ete in-
troduite comme outil pour la Classification des informations
marquees d'incertitudes dont la visualisation pourrait etre ef-
fectuee par plusieurs methodes.
