bers together with gifts, legacies and subsidies from various sources,
subject to the provisions of paragraph (c) of Article 7.
(a) A financial contribution shall be payable by Members in the
form of an annual subscription which shall be used to defray the
operational costs of the Organisation and the Executive Bureau
(various administrative and technical expenses, publications, transport
of equipment, etc.). The annual subscription shall be determined by
the Steering Committee and shall not exceed 200 for each Member.
(b) Research contributions shall be provided by the Members in
the form of services and supplies, e.g., aerial photography, supply of
photographs, data or auxiliary equipment, calculating co-ordinates of
checking points, providing plotting and checking instruments and by
seconding operators, computers and scientific staff.
The amount to be allocated to each programme shall be decided
unanimously by the Steering Committee in the light of each country's
capacity and its interest in the work concerned.
I-f, however, a Member suggests some special research programme
the cost of which substantially exceeds the value of its own research
contribution, the Steering Committee may request the Member con
cerned to pay an amount to cover the additional cost involved in the
special research.
(c) Gifts, legacies and subsidies may only be accepted if they do
not entail any clause contrary to the aims of the Organisation.
Article 8 Initial Programme.
The initial programme shall include among others
(a) a comprehensive and objective study of the most recent methods
of aerial triangulation
(b) an experimental study of the use of precision photogrammetiy
for making large-scale maps and, in particular, for the cadastral
surveyand
(c) an experimental study of quick and cheap methods of making
small-scale maps.
The Steering Committee may extend the initial programme so as to
include the experimental study of other problems relating either to
the improvement of photogrammetric methods or to the use and
improvement of instruments.
Article 9 Accession.
The Government of any Member country of the Organisation for
European Economic Co-operation, or of any country associated with
the work of the said Organisation, may become a Party to this Agree
ment by notifying the Organisation, subject to the approval by the
Steering Committee of the Organisation, which may make accession
conditional on the prior payment of a sum to be determined by it.
Article 10 Withdrawal.
(a) Any Contracting Party may notify its intention of withdrawing
