SURVEY ASSISTANTS required by KENYA GOVERNMENT for immediate vacan cies in the post of Survey Assistant, Grade I. Engagement will be for one tour of 30/45 months followed by paid home leave. Free passage on first appointment and on completion of contract. Successful candidates will be required to pass an oral Swahili examination within one year of appoint ment to qualify for first increment. Candidates, aged 25-40, must have obtained the equivalent of English Matriculation and preference will be given to those who have also completed a Technical High School Course in Surveying. They must also have a thorough and fluent knowledge of both written and spoken English; at least 5 years experience in field work and computation of large scale topographical or land regis tration surveys carried out for the Government or Military author ities or by private engineering firms or contractors, and be physically fit to carry out strenuous field work in any part of Kenya. Selected candidates will be required to carry out title surveys in volving triangulation, traversing, and photo identification. Salary (including Inducement Pay) 813 rising to 1341 a year on contract terms. Commencing salary will be according to qualifications and experience.
