Het is duidelijk dat de hier aangegeven methode enige eisen
stelt aan de nauwkeurigheid, waarmee de standaardellipsen in
P en Q zijn getekend. Men gebruike daarvoor bij voorkeur de
schaal ii.

The numerical adjustment of a double point, the simultaneous deter
mination of two stations by resection and intersection (fig. 1), requires con
siderable time in consequence of the resolution of the four reduced normal
equations which occur in this problem. In this paper the author tries to limit
the amount of calculation work as much as possible and to reduce the nu
merical resolution of the four equations with four unknowns to the graphical
resolution of two times two equations with two unknowns. For the graphical
resolution the method of Leenhouts-De Groot has been chosen, described
in this periodical, year 1950 pages 3-9 and year 1951 pag;es 61-70. For the
determination of the two standard ellipses it appears that is it not necessary
to compute the matrix of weight coefficients which takes up much time in
the numerical adjustment. The method has the advantage that it can be
used easily for the reconnaissance of a double point, the determination
of the form and the size of the standard ellipses. When the measurements in
the two points have taken place, the co-ordinates of the points can be found
easily in a graphical way. The standard ellipses, already known from the
reconnaissance, must be used for this determination.
