Dat er echter spoedig nog eens een dergelijke wijziging komt, die
zo rigoureus het totale proces wijzigt en daarmee ook de werkwijze
en organisatie van een dienst, is niet zo gauw te verwachten en
zelfs niet te hopen. Ik zie de wijziging als een mijlpaal in de historie
van de Topografische dienst en ben dankbaar hieraan te hebben
mogen meewerken.
A new mapping procedure by the Topographic Service in the Netherlands.
This article is a translation of a lecture held at the second international
course of cartography, Bern i960, completed by some new cartographic
developments.
It deals with the old mapping method, the new procedure and the research
that led to the adoption of the latter.
It concerns the introduction of cartographic polyester materials, the
engraving and strip-mask methods.
At the end of the article a summary is given about the advantages of the
new procedure over the old technique.
